Alice Ruppert
&
Connor Janowiak
Boulder, Colorado
Photos
We've set up a shared google photo album that
anyone can add to!
If it's tricky to join, or taking up too much phone memory to be on
the album, please just send pictures to Alice: 303-709-0518!
Thank You
We had a wonderful wedding! Thank you all for coming, singing,
dancing, and loving us!
Know that both Connor and Alice are forever your friends, family,
and will be here for you through any hardships and celebrations.
Each of you has been instrumental in teaching us how to be people:
how to be who we are, as individuals proud of our unique
personalities and interests, and empowered to live out our own
path. You've done this by encouraging and accepting us as we've
grown, and showing us the examples of how each of you embody your
glorious selves.
You've also taught us how to love--which is how we're able to love
each other. You've shown us how you care for us in many different
ways and styles. You've been close and vulnerable and real with us
for so long that we've learned to appreciate more aspects of our
shared humanity.
You've been there for our most annoying and stupid moments, and
believed in our ability to be better. We made mistakes with many
of you that have taught us how to apologize and how to grow and
maintain love for one another.
It meant a lot that all of you came to celebrate all weekend,
traveled so far, and contributed your time, money, and energy. We
certainly missed those who couldn't make it, but all of you who
came particpated in the best weekend of our lives!
Man Eating Chicken
We'll try to upload a recording for your listening pleasure. Unreal, fantastic experience to have you all sing with us.
It reapeats ad nauseum, works well as a strange round with people just yelling the words in random orders:
It's a--
Man eating chicken eating chicken man man
a man eating chicken man eating chicken man
it's a man eating chicken eating chicken eating man
a man eating chicken man eating chicken man.

Ring Exchange
Each day I will do as I do on this day
I’ll hold to my promises, and I’ll not stray
I give you this ring as a symbol to show
My love will be with you wherever you go
Connor's Vows
Alice, we stand between parks, hills, and trails,
Surrounded by friends, loved ones, memories and tales,
And in this environ I give you my vow,
A promise of love given here, given now
I vow with my hand to be honest and true,
To trust what you say and support what you do,
And even your nonsense to set up a pun,
I’d rather you fool me than give up the fun
I vow constant self care and aid in yours too,
To travel in health til we’re both ninety-two,
We’ll roam and we’ll wander through canyon and street,
Small grins and loud laughter for all that we meet
I vow comfort and solace when nights are too long,
Your man to share troubles, when you’re weak to be strong,
For you are my anchor, rock, mooring and home,
To keep me from falling to places unknown,
You’ve written me poems, and I’ve written for you,
Secrets in odd meter and odd rhyming too,
But words on this roof are as public can be,
I’ll stay always with you, if you’ll stay with me
Alice's Vows
Connor, I Alice, do vow to for all time,
To protect you, provide for you, love you as mine
Both when we’re together and when we’re apart
I commit all my being: my head, hands, and heart
When fortunes are fickle, I’ll endure each rain
Give more weight to joy than I’ll focus in pain
I vow to be diligent, honest, and wise
In making and keeping both household and ties
Yet, I vow not to checklist each hour and day
Or work without stopping to frolic and play
I promise the goal of my efforts will be
Adventure, to cherish our lives and be free
As I grow in this world, I’ll be seeking to find
Moments to share that are warm, sweet, and kind
Together we’ll strengthen and as your best friend
I know we’ll mess up, but I vow we will mend
Your focus is precious, and often not mine,
You don’t always hear me and I think that’s fine
I’ll honor your passions, and interests, and space
I'll accept who you are and your daydreams with grace
Each day and each Connor you are is enough
Broken, or sleepy, or fragile, or rough
I’ll hold all your realness, I’ll ready my arms
You’re perfect to me with your imperfect charms
Our brains will stutter, our bodies will slow,
Our winkles will deepen, our noses will grow,
You’ll find only kisses and joys in your grays
I’ll love you completely, the rest of our days
Timeline
We would love to see and celebrate with you at any or all events!
Attire
For Friday in the park, wear anything. If you wanna hike or play
pickleball, wear good tennis shoes!
For our ceremony, reception, and afterparty, we recommend clothes
that are comfortable, fun, and colorful!
Our ceremony may require standing for some guests, so we recommend
sandals or flats or sneakers.
Our venue has lots of painted, colorful Tajik folk art, and so
florals, patterns, teal, yellow, blue, red-- Indian wood-block
printed patterns or Ukrainian Vyshyvanka inspired dresses, or
anything that makes you feel flamboyant and good!
As a sidenote, Boulder is very chill so you'll also be fine in
jeans, Tevas, and a tshirt. Don't buy anything on our
account--unless you want!
For Sunday, wear anything!
